The Local Environment Resource Website is a pilot resource website designed to facilitate the work of the Local Environment Administrators (LEAs) in the Cree Communities of the James Bay Territory.

The website is designed to provide information about the environmental management functions that are key to the roles LEAs play in their communities. These functions were identified in the Environmental Code of Practice, a training initiative of the Cree Regional Authority (CRA), developed in 1998 with the support and involvement of the LEAs and the local Cree governments. The Environmental Code of Practice is the basic content reference for this website. Presently, the pilot website includes two environmental management functions:

  • Drinking Water Monitoring
  • Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)
